    Re: 10024Red Baron —Richie Dulin
(...) Hmmm... I may have to collect more data on this. Certainly my prelimary data, based on medium speed swooshing at both full arm extension and half arm extension, combined with several strafing runs (complete with machine gun sound effects) (...)         Re: Plane Sailing? (was Re: 10024Red Baron) —Allister McLaren
(...) I applaud your thoroughness, however, regarding the following passage: "...the tester decided not to continue out of fear for the strength of the Baron’s tailskid (his sole LEGO brown minifig shovel). It may well have survived four more (...) (22 years ago, 29-Nov-02, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Plane Sailing? (was Re: 10024Red Baron) —Troy Walker
(...) But of course that would be a case of using "non" aircraft parts on an aircraft! Having worked on aircraft for 8 years I can tell you that is a little bit of a no-no (only a little bit, as fencing wire 'was' considered ok on early planes, ie (...)          Re: Plane Sailing? (was Re: 10024Red Baron) —Richie Dulin
(...) Having carefully guarded the safety of my only brown LEGO brand common or garden shovel, I had a minor, completely non-swoosh testing related accident, wherein a partially completed house and fairly large backyard was dropped on the Red Baron (...)          Brown Shovel —Arne Lykke Nielsen
(...) Well, I don't know if this is relevant information for Australia - but here in Copenhagen in a temporary toy store (a Lego discaount store available for 3 months only) in their big boxes with pick-a-brick, there were loads of brown shovels - (...)         Re: Plane Sailing? (was Re: 10024Red Baron) —Martin Bruun
(...) Any plans on updating with data for the 10124 Wright Flyer? Martin (21 years ago, 28-Aug-03, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Plane Sailing? (was Re: 10024Red Baron) —Richie Dulin
(...) Definitely. I don't have a Wright Flyer to test at the moment (donations cheerfully accepted, though!). As soon as I do, rest assured that I will subject it to the standard array of swooshability tests, and report the results. I do not have (...)         Re: Plane Sailing? (was Re: 10024Red Baron) —Martin Bruun
(...) Yes, I beliewe the Wright Flyer would have serious difficulties completing your test program. My initial testing sofar has proven very unsuccesfull. There will also be a slight problem with the ground strafing manouver, unless of course a (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.loc.au, FTX)
