Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) I have done volunteer work for quite a few things myself and my motivation is because I like to do things. Money does tend to corrupt. However, money is also a resource that makes many things happen. Like printing. And yes I am looking at (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal)

Holy crow was that the most convoluted crap website signup ever. I was constantly reloading pages and getting error messages. That is either a really good sign, (lots of people are signing up for subscriptions as I just did,) or a really bad sign. (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

(...) I'm sorry I disappointed you, although I can pretty much say the comment on greed is a pretty cheap shot. (...) That's actually 34 dollars, and I agree it IS high.   Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) This was a decision that was made after it was pointed out to me by the publisher that a free issue in any form will undercut any selling issue. As for the revenue itself, it will be going to subsidizing print compendiums of back issues. I am (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) A few thoughts: First of all, I'm disappointed that greed has gotten the better of you. Issue one to eight was released free of charge, and should stay free. Secondly, I don't really mind paying for the following issues. That is to say, a few (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) That thread was talking about the new issues (from issue 10 onward). I'm talking about the existing issues that were previously made available for free.   Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) The PDF is not expensive, it is expensive to get the printed issue (ok specialty magazines are expensive, I know) but the worst thing is that Europeans AFOL cannot buy at all the printed BJ because it is sold only within US. Luca (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) I don't understand what you are saying. It is neither hard nor expensive to pay $3.95 (that is what, 2.78 Euros at today's rate?) to get the pdf version. I can't say that I'm terribly upset and that I didn't see this coming. Now that BrickJournal can have real subscribers, the magazine can continue to grow with more advertising.   Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) This is not the only problem. Think a second about this: how many Europeans would still write articles for a US Magazine which is hard/expensive to get in Europe? Brickjournal will loose not just readers but also writers... Cheers, Luca (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) Let me clarify myself... First issues special = 11$us for USA, 11$us + 2$us for Canada. This is "relatively" fair : 18.2% surcharge for USPS because it is sent international. Subscription = 32$us for USA, 50$us for Canada. 56.25% more for USPS (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)
