Here are my current thoughts on attributes of a lugnet.cad.dat group:
The server...
1) ...should reject an article addressed to lugnet.cad.dat which does not
contain LDraw .DAT data.
2) ...should reject an article containing LDraw .DAT data which is
addressed to one or more groups other than lugnet.cad.dat.
Corollary: .DAT files cannot be cross-posted to lugnet.cad.dat and
another group.
3) ...should reject an article if the Followup-To field contains
lugnet.cad.dat (because it's a data-content group, not a disucssion
group).
4) ...should transparently set the Followup-To to lugnet.cad (default)
if no Followup-To is given.

| (...) Oops -- one mod to that -- it should *require* .DAT data in lugnet.cad.dat, but not deny it in lugnet.cad -- it should *allow* .DAT data in lugnet.cad. Reason: Because some .DAT files won't be models -- they'll be works in progress wanting (...) (26 years ago, 13-Oct-98, to lugnet.publish)
