I was having problems similar to this, too. I use IE 6.0, so I don't know if
this applies to the original poster. I have an exemption set in IE to accept
cookies from Brickshelf.com.
I can log into www.brickshelf.com with no problems.
If I try to log into 206.131.246.36 (a common direct address for
brickshelf), my login doesn't remain - as described in this thread. My guess
is that IE is rejecting what it thinks is a "3rd party" cookie from
brickshelf.com.
Something simple to try.
