If you haven't noticed already, Yahoo has taken over the WebRing ((URL) system alltogether. It now introduces its stripped-down navbar with limitations and advertising integrated, and limits management options as well. Those of you who followed my (...) I completely re-vamped my site ((URL) about 10 days ago. I think the design turned out very well. Yesterday, I added a line of java that put a random picture (out of 7) in the top right corner everytime you go to the page no matter if you re-load or (...) (25 years ago, 9-Sep-00, to lugnet.publish)

well, the way I'd do it, if I cannot do anything serverside, is have a _client_ pull the pages, do the calcs, and upload the result back to the server to be served... then you can use a cron job, running perl (for instance).... Dan (25 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.publish)

One of the beauties of the 5x5 pixel idea is that there is no cost. It would simply be a small selection of pixels that would be put into the image by the author into a field of like colored pixels. this allows for about 32 million different (...) Sorry if this sounds harsh--it isn't meant to be. (...) One of the great thing about the DAT file format is that it's plain text. How can you make part of a text file unremovable? Secondly, lego.com never deals with DAT files, so this would solve no (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.publish)

A few relativly simple ideas concerning picture piracy. A) Why not make lcad bricks that are not removable so that models could contain permanent initials of the author. this could also be done by making dat files so that they are read only. this (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.publish)
