Well, rats!  Here someone else has come along and glommed onto my own
concepts before I got them out onto the web.  In my case, these approaches
were driven by a Dark Age which covered the period of Islanders, so that
I've had to pick up incomplete figure parts.

After a couple of auctions where actual Islander heads went way beyond my
limit, but where I was able to get torsos and (some) legs, I began looking at
(and using) these alternate heads.  Accordingly, my tribe has a handful of
"real" islanders, backed up by guys with Islander torsos, but with Native
American and Darth Maul heads (can you say "Maori"?).  In a few cases, lack of
islander legs is made up by use of Adventurers' mummy legs.

In a shameless site plug, anyone wanting to see the Native Americans as
they come from TLC can zip over to http://home.att.net/~locker99 and
follow the "Wild West" link.  More scans of actual figures from many
other series will appear there just as soon as I finish:

1. retiling my bath
2. spreading tons of mulch in the yard
3. mowing grass for the umpteenth time

etc., etc., etc....

Don't know is anyone's tried this yet, but Native American heads look much
better on Islander torsos IMO.  The face vary with the paint job so you have
more individuals instead of a bunch of guys who paint their face the same
way.   BTW, The female head Native American head looks great with the
Islander babe torso.

I made a cool lookin' witch doctor too.  Take the torso and legs of the King
Kahuka 'fig, add red epaulets and a red cape, add a Darth Maul head, and
crown it off with a Bat Lord helmet.  I like it a LOT!  Looks scary!
