  Re: Boilers

(...) Actually, because a lot of people with good technical expertise and interest read .pirates and not .boats (IIRC). And yeah, I was thinking about just modeling the tops of the boilers...but I haven't settled on a solution yet. best LFB (25 years ago, 6-Feb-00, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.pirates)

Do any part of the boilers in a capital ship of the mauve decade protrude above waterline? Maybe you should just suggest the top of the boilers on the lowest deck? And why is this cross posted to Pirates?? :-) (25 years ago, 5-Feb-00, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.pirates)

Re: 6267 Good Bad or Ugly?

(...) Well, if it's complete and the pieces are in good condition you probably got a pretty good deal. If it had the box and instructions it would be even better. Matt Chiles sells unopened 6267's at The Vault for around $50 shipped I think. I've (...) (25 years ago, 5-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  6267 Good Bad or Ugly?

I just won an E-Bay Auction for a 6267 Lagoon Lock up. I paid about $28 Total and thought I got a Very GOOD Deal, however the lack of bids had me thinking otherwise. The Set included 3 blue soldiers and the Large Blue Flag (Which I thought was very (...) (25 years ago, 5-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Boilers

(...) Yeah, I figured they were way too small for a ship by themselves--my thought was to install a dozen or so (for a whopping 180 BHP)...but the problem with the three-deck model is that the ship isn't full-hull, it's waterline. I wish I could (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Gee, 6271 is now a "very large ship"!

(...) Yea, the rich man's watch feature... I did see in their announcements that they will be adding a watch feature soon. Hopefully it will be implemented such that on one page you will see all the auctions you're bidding in plus the ones you're (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) whole (...) Too late for that! I just put in an opening bid to get it to appear on my personal page (items I am bidding on). It's easier to keep track of that way. Putting in an early high bid just invariably runs up the price. (...) It's easy (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Gee, 6271 is now a "very large ship"!

(...) True. Perhaps I should drive up the price... In a week or so, I need to make another inventory of my pirate ship parts. What has been amazing is how easy it is to get sails. I also might have more 6271 center sections than 6280! (I have more (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Gee, 6271 is now a "very large ship"!

(...) Hey, for the current bid of $3.99, I'm not gonna quibble (of course, the whole point of him saying it is a very large ship is to drive up the price). Bruce (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Gee, 6271 is now a "very large ship"!

According to: (URL) is a "very large ship". Of course there are 4 ships which are larger, 1 the same size, and 2 (or so) smaller (the or so is 6493 and the cutter from 6277). (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Pirate Page Update

I'm doing some updating of my pirate page at: (URL) you have a pirate page which isn't listed, please let me know (I am perusing lugnet.pirates to see if I'm missing anything). I've also started a reference of usefull non-Pirate sets. I've put in (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Boilers

(...) Oh, I would say they look _great_ as far as a small boiler goes...in fact, they look a lot like a boiler I may get the chance to help retube at school...but it supplies steam to a 15 BHP engine...so not all that much power...and our steam car (...)
