Hi all, I did a lot of Lego cannon building research, for mine new cannons. see: (URL) I googled up a storm. But I can tell you that this group is the mother load Lego cannon design. I have compiled a few of the many useful cannon links. A thread (...) (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Secret testing of a new cannon

(...) Thanks! (...) Well! "Indeed, the 12-inch “Oregon” gun Ericsson had built in England, and which also constituted the U.S.S. Princeton’s armament (along with the infamous “Peacemaker’ of Captain Robert F. Stockton’s build) was worked by an (...) (20 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Secret testing of a new cannon

What a great gun! It needs a better mount though. :) It realy reminded me of the "Disappearing Guns" mounted at a place called (URL) Fort Rodd Hill> (near where I live)as coastal defence batteries during the Victorian era. I found a web page (...) (20 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: New!

(...) Yah, so i guess i shoulda cross-posted to a few more relevant groups as well! 'Cause, although the Harry Potter ship is of Jack Stone (4+ and up age) origin, it's still a nice hull that's in black with gray trim. And the Shark head that fit's (...)   Secret testing of a new cannon

To: Cmdr. Naval Weapons Development RTN HQ. Galveston From: Capt. Counter-Intelligence Texas Rangers We have intercepted communications coming out of the Mexican spy network in and around Galveston. They are reporting on the noise of testing of (...) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

Re: 44-Gun Frigate, Done keel and half done gun deck

Thanks. Ive been working on this for about 9 months now. Usually I have two ships on the go, a "sacrifical" one for my kids to build using the traditional brown pirate ship hulls, and then my main project. After 3 rebuilds I'm fairly pleased with (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: 44-Gun Frigate, Done keel and half done gun deck

(...) This is looking very promising (and very large too). I'm looking forward to seeing (and hearing) more of it! Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Those openings in bow pieces...

(...) That's a very elegant solution! Thanks particularly for the build in colours. Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: (MOC) 12-gun Top-Sail Schooner RTS REMEMBER the LEGAMO

(...) Now that's a great idea! (...) Absolutely! Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

44-Gun Frigate, Done keel and half done gun deck

Re: (MOC) 20-gun Brig-of-War RTS SAN LEGONIO

(...) Thanks! (...) The color is called "dark orange" (URL) In choosing colors look at: (URL) (...) My bad!! but then TRS never had ratings! (URL) note: "Guns: 6 small" (...) I look forward to it! (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: (MOC) 12-gun Top-Sail Schooner RTS REMEMBER the LEGAMO

(...) 1 plate higher on the front of the 4 x 4 mast base. (...) thanks, I like the new (to me) word schoonery, too! (...) I've looked closely at this, and it's good, but ... I was thinking of a non-person figure head, I think, that I want to use (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Those openings in bow pieces...

(...) A headlight brick on the bow piece, plate 1 x 3 AT THE HALF STUD on the headlight brick's side stud, with a plate 1 x 1 and the 'Plate 1 x 2 with Handle' (2540), with a tile 1 x 4 on them. I think it centers well over the gun port opening, (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Those openings in bow pieces...

(...) A nice solution... am I right in thinking the 2x2 with handle (that holds the gunport lid) is mounted studs outward? The recolouring of the bow piece helps make the gunport look like it belongs, too. Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: (MOC) 12-gun Top-Sail Schooner RTS REMEMBER the LEGAMO

(...) Another worthy vessel! While I'm not generally a fan of schooner rigs, this is an excellent example... The mast rake is subtle and that stern, narrow and nicely schoonery. (...) Have you considered one like the ((URL) Demand)? (Minifig head, (...) (20 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: (MOC) 20-gun Brig-of-War RTS SAN LEGONIO

(...) A very nice development of the BSB! And yes, the swivel guns are pretty cool. (But they shouldn't count in the number of guns for the rating!) And recolouring the hull sections certainly works... I shall have to experiment with electrical tape (...) (20 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Merchant Ship

Hm, it seem's they're changing something. A déjà-vu again... Ahoy! I like that. The vessel makes a very maritime impression, well, rather flumitime (I know, this word doesn't exist), that's "belonging to a river", somehow. It looks like a river (...) (20 years ago, 27-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New MOC: Merchant Ship

(...) What's it supposed to be? I don't know ship names very well but it seems either very old or oriental... I thought of a 'dhow' but don't know if the mast config matches that. Looks cool though. Spotlighted. Red decks. How convenient! (when the (...) (20 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Those openings in bow pieces...

(...) I saw this post, and I viewed it as a challenge, see: (URL) and see: (URL) I used both as gun ports (in the 16 wide bow) and mounted 2x2 flags as gunport lids. what do you think? (...) (20 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)
