Ahoy,
Another privateer has turned up in Port Brique. Its not particularly big or
impressive, but does have a couple of innovative features.
The vessel is the Digne, and is is captioned by Guillaume Bishop. As would be
expected, Bishop of Digne is well known for his benevolence.
The Digne is a merchant ketch, which is currently in Port Brique awaiting a new suit of sails.
It uses a teepee pole for the bowsprit, as shown
here, and the hull
is lengthed with inverse slopes (the supply of centre sections having run low)
as you can make out <http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/rdulin/jun03/digne12.jpg
here).
The mizzen mast is made up of 1x1 rounds, which dont have much in the way of
strength, so they are reinforced, internally, with a flex tube. Im quite happy
with the effect,
but would replace it with a suitable mast section if I had one to spare.
Heres another pic of the Digne, this time from
astern.
Theres a few more ships due in Port Brique soon: The rest of the Brikkish
Squadron (a cutter and a brig), and another merchant vessel.
Cheers
Richie Dulin
