Hi Tom

Thanks again for the scans.

I may try and do another scan for brickshelf and make it a little better.  I
hope this helps.

I noticed that the colours on the sail motif are printed a little of. Is
this normal on these sails?

I may try to paint my sail motifs by hand. Has anyone tried printing onto
sails? It's mentioned on Evil Stevie's homepage.

Hi Henrik,
I'm not sure what you mean when you say the colours are printed a little
off.  If you mean that they are not lined up equally from the sides and
top/bottom, then you are probably right.  I've found that most of the lego
sails are not printed very exact.  If you look at the stripes on the larger
ships, they often line up different per sail.
As for printing them yourself, there are different ways to do it.  One
method I haven't tried yet is using a computer printer using the special
canvas paper you can buy.  I have the paper, but haven't tried it.  I have
used a couple of other methods to create sails.  I have cut designs out of
iron-on fabric and ironed it onto the sails.  That works pretty well.  The
tricky part is cutting out intricate designs and it's hard to do
multicolors.  You can just use fabric paint and paint your design.  They
have nice pens that help to paint fine lines.  You can stencil a design on
and then paint it.  I suggest you find something you feel comfortable doing
and try it.  Practice on a test piece of fabric and you'll be able to get
familiar with the method.  I've even used bleach to etch out the color on
fabric to create a design.  There are a lot of methods that work.
good luck,
Tom
