Nope, but my prediction was that if Adventurers continued, we would not • see a
return of Pirates.  We may never see a return in any case.  One can hope • for
2001, but perhaps Pirates is just too out of style, and something hipper • makes
more sense to Lego.  I'd like to know the answer just for my own piece of
mind, but they play their cards close to the gravy stains.

A pox on your predictions, Bruce!

A return of the Pirate/Soldier themes is the SINGULAR thing TLG could do to
forever mend the extant rift between it and AFOL.  The new 2000 lineup • looks
good, a giant step in the right direction in fact, but its still not quite
fully on target -- the whole target!

I want more 1700s themes, dammit!  If I can't have Pirates and Soldiers, • how
about a colonial village, or London in the era of Moll Flanders or Barry
Lyndon, or a Castillian castle and REAL conquistadors?

Just an idle thought, but who here would knock over cub scouts and old
ladies with a shopping cart to get to:

6299 A 16-wide white/blue three-center four-gun two/three-mast Spanish
Armada Galleon?

6298 A big Armada base with TWO Imperial Trading Post cutters in blue
and white, docks, cranes, a tavern, and a warehouse?

5060 Soldier accessory packs (six shako hats, three Conquistador
helmets, three each: red, blue, white, yellow epaulets; nine backpacks,
nine muskets, nine sabres (new sword!)

And one of those fig boxes:
6200 Imperial Guard (1 Admiral, 1 Officer, 4 troopers)
6201 Soldiers (same as above except in blue)
6203 Prussians (see http://www.hinet.net.au/~guinan/prussian.jpg)(same • assortment)
6205 Armada (same in red with metallic breastplate for Admiral/Officers)
6210 Artillery (Two horses, ammo lighter, cannon on wheels, three crew)
6206 Pirates (Five various Pirates, all with black bandanas and weapons,
one Pirate Wench, NO Captain Redbeards)

(raises both hands)
(and one foot)

Arrrrrr!  Boarding parties away!  Take no prisoners and snag all the loot ye
can carry.  I be pointing out that my lads be not so color-coordinated wit'
their do-rags, and expect black, red, blue, green and yellow.  As long as we
be wishin' fer the stars, wish big.
