...but the "adult" part of FOL always seemed to not fit great since my inner
child always seemed to be trying to get out (I guess that would explain why I
like PPG and SpongeBob so much).  Of course, now that I am in my 4th Dark Ages,
the F part has been waning.  Personal life changes have hugely contributed to
this decline and some things that TLC has been doing recently has not helped
(i.e. color changes, juniorization, etc.).  Some nastiness that surfaces in the
Lego forums from time to time has not helped either to be perfectly honest.

Lego, Lugnet (membership no. 404) and BrickLink (the artist formerly known as
Brickbay - I joined in August, 2000 and what a ride it has been) was there for
me during some bad times in my life and I will always be grateful for those
times.  Building with Lego in my spare bedroom helped whittle away the hours
(see here for my MOC's if you'd like:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=cg47) and cope with the downs of
my personal life.  Life is full of changes and cycles and Lego drifting in and
out is one of those things that gets swept in and out with the other clutter of
modern life.  If only I could take my former love of Lego and go back in time to
the Golden Age (80's and early 90's), then my Lego days would probably not be
up.

The people that I have met (cyberly speaking only, unfortunately) through the
Lego universe helped me go through some of those tough times in my life and I am
forever grateful for them.  AFOL's always seemed to be a notch above the average
person online and I only hope that I have added rather than detracted from said
people's lives over the years.

Thanks for indulging the ramblings of an old maxifig!

Bob
