As the time draws closer to BrickFest, the question always arises: What does one bring? This is an open-ended question, but here are some things that should be brought:

MOST IMPORTANT

1) Bring yourself. There’s nothing like being at BrickFest and being able to see and talk with the other fans just like you. Now if you are still not registered. What are you waiting for? Go to www.dc.brickfest.com!

2.) Bring your MOCs. Regardless of what you may have heard or seen, there’s nothing like being MOC to the event and being able to show your models to all those others who can truly appreciate the joy of building, and can offer tips and tricks for future project. So bring a MOC or two or three... And don’t forget to make a MOC card at the BrickFest website. http://dc.brickfest.com/registration/mocs.php

3.) If your a member of a LUG/LTC or other Club, bring your club banners and Signage. wWe will find a place to hang them.

4.) Camera: You’re going to see a lot and meet a lot of people, so have a camera handy to capture those fun moments....and make sure you have lots of film and or batteries,

5.) Dirty Brickster present ($10 wrapped LEGO item) for 7:30 Saturday Night

6.) Change: (lots fo change)For the vending machines and the Brick Bazaar.

7.) Comfy shoes. BrickFest is on two floors, so expect to put in some walking, and maybe running from presentation to presentation! Oh and it’s a bit of a walk, one metro stop or just a few blocks to the hotel.

8). Snacks:....yes you will forget time and forget to eat. Although we have scheduled it, there is so much to see and do. So don’t forget to eat bring a couple of snacks. (There is a grocery store just around the corner, too)

9). Don’t forget to bring your shirts from your LUG and past BrickFests! Each day is a day to wear a favorite shirt of one type or another, with the last day being wear your NEW BrickFest shirt! And you can order them through the website, there will be limited quantities on site!

10). An open mind and a supply of smiles and laughs. BrickFest is a load of fun, so be ready to meet old and new friends, make a couple of discoveries, have more than a few goofy things happen, but most of all, it’s the biggest group of AFOLs in North America so be ready for anything.

Now keep in mind, this is not an exhaustive list. Feel free to add more items.......

and I’ll see you in Arlington!

Christina Hitchcock
