Congratulations. This explains the dearth of new models from you lately ;)

I’ve got a 6 y.o. and a 2 y.o. in my house. some of the best times I’ve had with the older one have been sitting at the lego desk building stuff. He’s getting better at reading instructions, although on larger builds he tend to get a little distracted towards the end. I’m the hunter/gatherer for parts and he builds, but we do swap over occasionally, and I’m there to help on tricky steps. We even built a small Technic model the other day - he was totally undaunted by it as I was there to help, but he build most of it himself. He knows my sorting system almost as well as I do, but I can’t get him to break stuff up and put them away quite yet. He’s also getting pretty proficient at building mocs too - he sometimes surprises me with the way he puts pieces together.

The 2 y.o. sits on the floor with the 2 x N block bin and sticks stuff together seemingly at random, but then stands up and proudly announces ‘it’s a plane!’ or ‘it’s a horse1’ and proceeds to woosh it around the house.

One room of our house is a devoted play room for the kids. The floor is more or less permanently covered in Duplo.

Ah, the joys of a Lego household.

I’ve delibreately avoided mentioning the less joyful bits - I’ll leave you to discover them yourself ;)
