I'm moving this thread from the Wamalug...

I had a couple of questions that (maybe) only a finalist could answer..

-Did all the finalists have to interact with the media as one of the "tests"? I
found it interesting that each of the winners was on TV in some way before the
end of the competition. Did everyone do this? I know one of the aspects of the
job was to be an "ambassador", I'm just wondering if you got your 15 minutes as
well. :)

Hey Darrell,
To answer your question....
Quite a few of the contestants were interviewed by their own hometown TV and
Radio stations, and others were interviewed by reporters and writers from
magazines like "Wired" and such.

In fact the Wired News online had this article up the other day (1.27)
http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,62047,00.html?tw=wn_culthead_6

I personally ended up with Seattle TV interview, and an interview via cell on
Radio that afternoon.
I received a lot of interview questions after, from SD Tribune and various other
media (which I honestly never caught some of the names) All of this was in
response to what I had created, the Hot Dog, Large Drink with lid, the sign "Out
to Lunch" and used the tub lid as the tray.

I also was pulled aside by many fans, parents, groundcrew personnel, and quite a
few people from the Lego staff, who all enjoyed the creativity and humor in what
I chose to build. I also recieved a very nice personal note from John Jakobsen,
for the participation. So I am content with that recognition, at least I got the
popular vote and was acknowledged for that, even if I wasn't awarded the job.
