Richie I can appreciate your desire to know what is going on between Matt and Tim. I am unfortunately not able to fill in the gaps but I can tell you this; Matthew Gerber owns the BrickMedia, LLC and the trademarks BricksWest and Bricks Magazine. He is also the North American Distributer of Box-4-Blox from the New Zeland patent holder on the device.

Tim had agreed to assist Matthew in getting Bricks Magazine off the ground and I for one am glad Tim had agreed to particiapte. Tim is a great person and a wonderful steward of Ldraw. His reputation in the community is wonderful and he is a friend to many in the community.

Apparently, something is going on in the background that Tim is either not willing or able to share with us. If he was, I am certain that Tim would communicate what he could. What is going on I can only speculate. Legal? Personnal? Who knows? Tim is not saying anything for now and Matthew has not been heard from. (In fact, it has been so long since anyone has heard from Matthew, that I am personnally worried about his well-being).

Suffice it to say, whatever is going on, Tim wants the AFOL community to know that he is no longer a part of Bricks Magazine. The reason why I hope will be made public in the weeks and months to come. Maybe we will know more after BrickFest? Maybe not?

By the way, has anyone heard from Matthew and is he and his family alright?

Sicerely and with love for this community,

Todd

Why the secrecy?

I mean, you’re not wishing to discuss the details, you’re upset that your name hasn’t been removed from the site, and you need the support of those who ‘need to know’ so it obviously wasn’t an amicable separation.

So why not say what happened? People will speculate anyway - we can tell it wasn’t amicable. I’m definitely interested - and I don’t even stand to lose a small amount of money or a free magazine over it.( I was already wondering why the ‘unforeseen circumstances’ delaying Bricks Magazine included one of the editors seeming to have forgotten he had agreed to write a book, and the other one that he had a family to support!)

I recall you often speculating about the LEGO community, so why not share what’s happening with that “community”? People think they (or others) may have lost money and - besides that - people were looking forward to Bricks Magazine. But then a seperation between you and Brickmedia occurs, and you don’t deem it necessary to tell them - your “community” why.

It all seems a bit odd to me.

(Or did you get a severance package which included your silence?)

Cheers
