Ohh, that was "you guys" not you specifically. Didnt mean to aim that at one
person. :)

Also wanted to mention as i am sure it will come up..

I am not worried about the defensability of my faith.  I have no 'need' to
defend it.

Christ can defend himself when he needs to and has no need of me getting
involved.

I will always involve myself in personal one on one conversations though.
So if you really truely genuinly wish to discuss/debate Christ in a one on
one setting my email is open. david@schwankeweb.net.

But I have no 'need' to publicly defend my faith. The only 'need' that I
have is to present it when I think it is apropriate. Actively going and
looking for a fight is not my cup of tea.

Call me a wuss, I really dont care. :) I'm just not in the mood. :)

Well. I am not looking for a big heavy discussion. If the participants • arent
going to be friendly then I am not intersted and that is the general vibe
that I hear about it.

I am also not interested in deep theological discusions. I didnt come here
to get into another 2000 post 8 month discussion. Maybe later. But not now

Also, please realize that I come here to be a part of the community as a
regular joe and not to come in and 'preach'.  Some preaching is a part of
who I am and is going to come out everywhere I go. But I am not looking to
come here and spend large chunks of time doing soley preaching.  I can get
that anywhere.

I ask you this.. What do the people in otd want? If they REALLY want to
discuss Christ then they can just as easily go to another website as I • have
been told around here to do. If your goal is to discuss Christ and NOT • lego
then that is what you should be doing.  So then it begs the question what
are the real goals and motivations? Especially if they are comeing across • so
heated as to develop a reputation?

Thanks but count me out.

And if its that off topic it has nothing to do with the Lego and I am here
because I relate to Christ through the Lego and I create my Lego with the
hands of Christ.

So I will not go to otd because of its reputation but also because I am
neither interested in being off topic or in debating.

You need to understand something about me.  Christ is not something that I
segregate away from lego, away from people, away from community, into some
off topic debate corner of the world.  Christ is a person that comes with • me
wherever I go in whatever I do. I exist in the same space is Christ I • speak
from the mouth of Christ, i create Lego with the hands of Christ..

I wouldnt be on topic in off topic!

I have no need to go to off topic debate because I am neither off topic • nor
going to debate.

Thanks but I'll pass.

And for the record, I am not reading debate so if you guys are saying
anything you want me to hear you are going to have to come out and post it
somewhere else. I am not interested in what debate has to offer.

B) Ive been told that if I open this topic up there I am liable to • never

.debate doesn't suffer fools gladly, no. If you just waltz in there  and
tell people you have some Good News for them, you're not likely to get a
warm reception.

It's a real lions' den to walk into, that's for sure.  Not for the • faint of
heart, but if your faith can handle some vigorous argument

and some silliness, and you have the common sense to tell which is • which,
(something not mentioned by PuddingHead Dave!)

then you should
be fine.

The whole thing does belong somewhere in ot.  Personally I don't think
there's enough levity in these posts for ot.fun, but it's probably best • to
take it there for now and expect a few one liners and quips from people
trying to lighten it up.

If I had my druthers, I'd really rather it went straight to .debate... I
don't think there's any levity at all in this subthread. I'm the curator • of
.fun and .geek (which gives me no extra authority to force things to go • any
particular place, but which does give the expectation that I've thought
about proper compartmentalization in this area, and I have) and I just • don't
see it as the sort of topic that gets put in .fun

Do what Mags said, lurk first. Lurk a LOT.

Read some of the big theology threads so you know you aren't going to be
covering plowed ground. Then, if you must, plunge in. But by now most
.debate readers presumably know what you want to say already, so why say • it
unless you have a new twist?

And consider starting a new thread rather than continuing this one, it's • off
track from what Tim had in mind when he started it.

Good luck.
