That's funny...I saw this earlier, and was just about to upload a picture of
my son Zachary:

LOL! Why do kids loving doing this? I would think it would hurt their
bottom. My 2 young-ones (ages 2 and 1) LOVE to get in the Duplo tub! We used
to have one 10-gallon tub full of Duplo and they at times fought over who
would get to stand or sit in the tub. But now after the sale Target had we
have 2 of the 10-gallon tubs full of them so they each have their own tub to
do what they want to - which is good because the 2 year old is starting to
actually build with them (and not banging them together and trying to eat
the duplo figs).

Well, with their lighter weight, the pressure a small child exerts on
whatever they are sitting on (and therefore the pressure exerted on
their body by whatever they are sitting on) is quite a bit smaller than
for an adult. Also, that baby fat amounts to proportionally more padding
than a reasonably lean adult has.

Of course I suspect the far more important factor is that the attention
being given to the toy completely overrides the pain sensations. Haven't
you ever sat in an awkward position during an intense activity (play or
talk) and only when your attention wanders do you suddenly realize how
painful your sitting position is?

(...) Haha I know exactly what you mean. Since I don't have enough table space, I usually build on the floor. After building stuff for the past few evenings, I've gone to bed with a sore back and legs! -Bryan (22 years ago, 3-Oct-02, to lugnet.people)
