A morning or two a week I take care of my neighbor's precious little girls.
One will soon be three and the other just turned one. I have been giving
Primo and Duplo on every possible occassion. After outside adventures and
snack and reading the magic words came, "Aunt Sheree, let's build
something." It is a simple statement like this that makes a really good day
for me. This building/rebuilding occupied the remaining 40 minutes until
their Mom returned from work.
At time when I have one going off to college in the fall and the other
growing by leaps and bounds also, it is really nice to have a little ones
near. It has always been my goal as a parent to become unneccessary, to
give my daughters the tools and confidence to be independent and self
sufficient. They are well on their way and pushing to break free. The
second labor of love is letting go. Who knew it would so be much harder
than the first?
