Re: How Lego Saved My Life (Long Post)

Way to go, Hendo! I am very glad to hear that you were able to pull yourself out of a bad cycle and am also glad that lego was part of that. Here is my story. I am a foster parent. I currently have three foster children and one biological child in (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

  Re: Coolest LEGO Experience?

(...) My favorite Lego moment is waking up early one Christmas morning and finding a King's Castle under my bed. Building a giant medieval city with two castles, waterfall, caves, inns, shops, etc. when I was 10, I used almost all of my peices (over (...)   Re: How Lego Saved My Life (Long Post)

(...) Here's a repeat of my original post about how Lego helped me through some dark days: (URL) continues to be a positive part of my life to this day. And the friends I've made through Lego are the best! :-) - Bob (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

  Re: Coolest LEGO Experience?

(...) You know, I guess if I am going to ask a question like this, I had better be ready to answer it too! I have to say, every time I answer the question "So where do you work?", I have a "LEGO Moment". It is amazing to me how much positive emotion (...)   Re: Coolest LEGO Experience? Animation!!

The Inspiration: I was majoring in Cinema at San Francisco State and had started my first Production class. We were all using Super 8 cameras. I had to buy mine due to the unfeasability of renting one from a place in SF since I live in the East Bay. (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

Re: How Lego Saved My Life (Long Post)

John, your story has hit home with me. I share many of these experiences. I always thought that Lego was the one thing that did not talk back to me, tell what to do, draw unfair judgements on me, or otherwise. In fact it was the one thing that (...)   Re: How Lego Saved My Life (Long Post)

(...) John, good for you. I related HUGE to that. I recently separated myself from a long term girl friend. I think it's for the best, but change is difficult. I also have spent a bit too much, I'm still in school so I won't be going out very often (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

  Re: Coolest LEGO Experience?

Hello! (...) Yes I did: (URL) was about ten and wearing strange glasses... But that's not my coolest experience.) I'd like to tell two stories. I don't know if they count as "cool", but they are somewhat peculiar. 1. In 1983 I got the set 6374 as a (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

  Re: Coolest LEGO Experience?

(...) snip (...) A couple years ago I went to the house of the Religious Education Director at my church to talk about a church banner I was to make. As we were finishing talking about the banner, I started talking to her grandson, Hudsen (who was (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)
