Dear Texas AFOLs,

Lego is holding a building event in Austin, and would like to invite you to
participate. Brian Bowler and Jake McKee have contacted me, and asked me to
pass the word along to you. Brian will be attending the event.

Here are the details straight from Brian:

"Austin-area families are invited to help construct a giant replica of one
of the new stamps issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS) - made
entirely of LEGO® bricks.  A LEGO Master Model Builder will be on-site to
create an enormous mural measuring 25 x 37 feet and composed of nearly
175,000 LEGO bricks! This building event is open to the public and free of
charge.

WHEN: Thursday, September 12, 2002
Noon to 6:00pm
Friday, September 13, 2002
Noon to 5:00pm
Saturday, September 14, 2002
9:00am to 6:00pm
Sunday, September, 15, 2002
10:00am to completion

WHERE: Crockett Center
6301 Highway 290 East
Austin, Texas

Obviously, we'd love to have some of the AFOL come out to join us and help
build throughout the course of the event.  Additionally, I also have the
unfortunate task of coordinating the breakdown of the mural on Sunday
evening.  We'll be donating the bricks to local children's groups, but we'd
be more than happy to donate some to whomever is able to help us with the
teardown.  We'll probably begin around 6:00pm and it would only take an hour
or two.  Six-eight volunteers would be ideal, but we appreciate any time
anyone can give to help."

This sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to going. I hope you
all can make it! If you have any questions, please email me (tja@texbrick.com).

thanks,
TJ Avery
