It's a little late (I've been having weird computer problems for a while) but I
thought I'd post some notes on the last meeting.

First, though, someone lost an RCX remote; if anyone picked it up, could you
please let me know so that we could return it to the owner? Also, a Lego wire
was lost out of one of the sets. I know we were very rushed to get out of the
room on time, so probably whoever picked these two items up just didn't have
time to return them. Let me know if you have either, and we'll get them back to
their owners. Thanks.

In November we had our annual BrickHeap Wars meeting. This time the challenge
was to pick up Lego soccer balls on a field. Four teams built robots. Scoring
was based on the number of balls picked up, with penalties for balls lost out of
the field, and with a one time bonus given to each robot based on its size.

The teams were:
Jesse Watson, Shane B-Davis, and Nick Burrows with a score of 852!
Barton Place, Jonathan Horner and Andy Corman with a score of 322!
Mark Kenworth, Sean Kenworth, Matthias Handler, and Steve Burrows with a score
of 162!
and Gus Jansson, Lennart Jansson, Brian Gleadle and Ian Gleadle with a score of
44.

Congradulations, everyone!

All the robots were very impressive, and a blast to watch! I trust everyone had
a great time participating in the competition.

The next meeting will be January 31st. The mini-challenge will be to build a
robot that does something "new" with a crate or with the mini Lego soccer/basket
balls. Use your imagination.
