I know what you’re all thinking, and yes, I did paint the blimp white to look better with the overall scheme. This was the first time I modified a part. The blimp is barely a LEGO part, but hopefully Kjeld will forgive me anyhow. Actually, I modified another part too, but it isn’t visible in the photos, so I won’t bother sharing the details.

The gondola is a little boxy looking. With my desire to use the train door, train windows and the technic arm interfaces to the blimp, the size and shape was pretty well dictated. It would be simple enough to modify the design to 4 studs wide, but with 6 studs, I was able to have 2 aisles of passenger seating.

I had fun with all the minifigs, and different activities going on at the same time. I’ll continue to modify the diorama by adding more personality to the minifigs as I get different heads and torsos.

Thank you to Todd and Suz for creating LUGNET, and to all the others that make LUGNET such a great resource to AFOLs!

John,

the blimp MOC is great. Thank you for bringing it to the SANDLUG meeting on Sunday.

And thank you for the loan of the model for the SDMRM train layout. I’ll take good care of it.
