Thanks! I had been trying to remember what set I got those "turret" pieces
from. I knew they were from a Star Wars set, and I only had two of these
pieces, which helped narrow it down a bit. I must've gotten them out of Sith
Infiltrator, since I still don't have TIE Fighter / Y-Wing.
The funny thing is that this one single piece inspired the entire university
building. I had just seen the pictures of the modular castle wall from one of
the early planning sessions for this display, and was inspired to build
something to go with it. I picked up that piece and thought "rook", so I built
a tower. Before I knew it, I had a school/university building complete with a
library, a classroom, a rooftop astronomical observatory, and a pair of ivory
towers.
From there, I went totally overboard and built the nearby castle. I made the
windmill as a side project, and only brought it to TCS on a whim. (I'm still
trying to get a motor inside that puppy!)
So I guess you could say that single grey inverted slope thingie inspired my
entire castle phase! (Well, actually Dave and Eric's wall and gatehouse were
the inspiration, but that piece was the speck of dust around which the
snowflake of my castle phase crystallized.)
Anyway, I took some pictures the day we put the display up, (before Suzanne's
stuff was in there) which I'll try to post within the next day or two. Sorry
that it's kinda late, but I've had a busy month...
