This is to announce several changes to the NELUG web site as well as the
transition of our old NELUG mailing list to a new Web Based mailing list.

http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/nelug-list

This new mailing list has been set up to greatly ease maintenance of the list
as well as to allow users more options as to how they want to see messages and
to allow them to subscribe and unsubscribe as they wish.

The mailing list has been and I expect it will continue to be a low traffic
group used only for information that would be inappropriate for LUGNET.  The
list page helps to lay out what the list should and should not be used for.

Anyone is welcome to join the list although anyone abusing the list will be
removed and banned from the list.  If you think that you will be getting some
sort of secret information from the list I think you will be disappointed.  I
don't think we have had to use the list at all for the last few months.

I have also made several changes to the NELUG website.

http://www.nelug.org/

1.  I have added a much clearer map of the region to the homepage.

2.  I have removed the "Join" option and replaced it with a link to the
    new mailing list.

3.  I removed the "Trade" page.  (Lack of interest mostly).

4.  I removed the membership counts (maintenance issue and it is now
    available from the mailing list).

5.  I updated the FAQ page slightly.

6.  I added a "Visiting New England" Link section for Out of Towners.
Just 2 links so far but I plan on adding more.

7.  Just generally cleaned up the home page.

If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know.

(...) An alternate idea I'd like to see: have a page of direct links to member's trade pages. That way one can quickly and easily check through the trade pages of people in the area. J (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)
