Hi all,

All right, I've managed to become completely enamored with the other BM logo
John Neal managed to dig up:

Before the train show, I wanted to put together a freight car for my steam
engine to pull along with the NE version of this logo, so I started playing
around with making it as pretty as possible.  I ended up with 3 different size
templates - 10 studs by 6 bricks high, 12x8, and 16x10 (billboard, anyone?).
They consist of plates and lots and lots of tiles arranged horizontally and
vertically in order to obtain the optimal resolution (TLC did some book covers
using this technique, shown in the DK book ...).  Anyway, here are the
templates I came up with (note that the first size, 10x6, is repeated twice,
once with some of the plate stacks replaced by bricks):

Each little rectangle represents a 1x1 plate/tile viewed from the side.

Anyway, as I head home to try and build this tonight, I wanted to solicit some
ideas for color schemes for the logo itself, and a color car it would look good
on.  Do we know of any colored copy of this logo?  I can't do it in black and
white, since I have no black tiles that aren't already in use, and vanishingly
few small grey ones.  So I need a three-color-pallette suggestion: the
background color (which will be the color of the freight car), the "N" color,
and the "E" color.

As I said, rule out grey and black.  And assume that the colors have to be
pretty standard, since I'll need quite a few of them in both plate and tile
forms (so scratch the teal idea, Joslin, you pansy :P ).

I was thinking the logo might look nice in red and yellow - but then what color
should the car be?  Blue and red on white could work, I suppose ... patriotic
even.  My first choice would be a color combo that was actually used, but it
might have been a b+w only logo to begin with ... in which case I'll go for the
best looking one altogether.

And if you're into accessorizing, the engine and tender are black and red.
That means no Belville Pink either, Joslin.

Thanks in advance,
-s
