April Meeting Overview

Due to the LLC event we had a small but good turnout last Saturday. I think we
had about 10 members.
For those who couldn't come you missed one of the all time best meetings. The
location was simply stunning! Here are the high points:
The location was literally right above the beach. Long Beach, the Pacific, the
Queen Mary, and Spruce Goose were all visable.
The food was wonderful. BBQ cooked to order. Ray's daughter Christine acting as
waitress. Soda, chips, veggies, cookies and all sort of other goodies a'plenty!
AND a FULL WET BAR!!! Uh okay maybe not that...
Door prizes to be had via raffle. I believe this was a LUGOLA first. Eric Bitton
won a Clickets hand towel! :-)
We had a quick speed build of the Tie Fighter 4 pack set. 2 teams of 4 with each
builder making one of the fighters. Team Cody beat out Team Justin but just
barely...and we got to *gasp* keep the Tie Fighters (unlike LLC).
Lots of models to be seen. Eric had a new smaller adding machine, Eric Bitton's
various official models. Dave had a new very cool space ship and a bigger
origami mecha. I brought a big spider and an almost done Route 66 sign. Cody and
Justin (the younger members) both had Bionicle models to spare.
Then we had the best cake I've had in some time. It was shaped like a big yellow
brick. It was Justin's B-day the week before so we all sang the normal song. I
can't remember the name of it...
Overall the meeting was wonderfully organized and beautifully executed. The
locaiton and food were more suited to a wedding reception than a LUGOLA meeting.
All in attendence were spoiled!
Thank you very very much Ray, Miriam and Christine Quan for putting on a truely
remarkable meeting. And you too Justin. I wouldn't forget ya!!!

| lol! Great timing this post...I just canceled out my own 'overview' post because of it. Please contact either Scott or myself if you have pictures of this event to share as we're putting it all together for public consumption. For those who are (...)
