Hey, all,

Sorry I had to miss the meeting last Sunday.  Our First Lego League team just started up again (September to December) and we meet every Sunday from 4-6 (and Thursday nights)

I'm going to talk with Steve M. to see about the FLL team having a field trip to his place for the October 13th meeting.  I think a group of 9-14 yr olds would enjoy his set-up...

My progress on the roundhouse is not quite what everyone may have hoped for...  but some other stuff is clearing off my schedule, so I'll get back to that.

Finally, I didn't like any of the minifigs I was able to generate from that page.  I'll see what else I can come up with.

Later
Steve (H)

Steve Martin again hosted the meeting, held September 8, 2002 at 4:00pm.

GATHERING
Several brought and displayed train show contributions. Leah wowed us
with her library MOC, modeled after her home town public library, she
said. She also brought the park she had posted earlier and a townhouse.
Thomas brought a gothic church worthy of Batman and at least one 8-wide
train engine MOC. Jeramy showed his three-engine round-house building
primed for integration with Steve H.'s roundhouse turntable. Brian
brought his micro-motor point switcher and displayed the road-following
disability of his autonomous truck to the muffled amusement of many.

IndyLUG welcomes Steve McDonough. (LugNET site of the month, August
2002) and Andrew ?. (Sorry, Andrew, I didn't retain your last name.)
Thanks for joining us, a bringing such great MOCs, including "the
coolest Megatron ever seen." Welcome, Steve Mc. and Andrew!

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Quality photos were taken of the layout and MOCs which will be digitized
and used for the website (http://www.indylug.org) gallery. Jeramy
requested minifig representations of each of us. The web site
http://www.reasonablyclever.com/ has a great minifig generator.
Members were politely asked to make use of this tool.

Steve M. provided and grilled cheeseburgers. Dinner was self-served and
enjoyed over conversation. We affirmed Steve M.s unofficial role as
host, Jeramy's unofficial role as webmaster, and Brian's unoffical role
as secretary. It was unofficially decided that the secretary will post a
meeting notice two weeks prior to each meeting. The most vocal also
decided to have pot luck for October's meeting. Chili merger for
November, and a weiner roast in December. For the pot luck, so far Steve
M. has committed to a main dish, Brian to a side, and Thomas to a dessert.

Brian successfully swapped the micro-motor for a geared motor on the
point switcher during the meeting. He'll now mass-reproduce it (14
times) with suitable show-quality housing and signal flags for
integration with the layout. Steve Martin will supply most of the
motors, wires and spears.

Speaking of layout, near final determinations were made as to whose what
will go where on the layout. Changes required to existing structures
were noted. Contact Steve M. if you need specifics.

A specific area was zoned for a specific type of use. Each member was
requested to make a contribution to this area. A veil of secrecy was
gently lowered. Those who missed this meeting, you can get details (on a
need-to-know basis, of course) by e-mailing another IndyLUG member
directly, as no details will be discussed in any public forum. Oooooh
this will be something spaaashul

ACTION ITEMS
People will work on their train show contributions, including their
special contribution.

Jeremy will e-mail an updated mailing list.

Bring a main dish, side dish, dessert, beverage, or table service to
share for October's meetings.
