Re: November Meeting 1 week away

I was thinking that if three or four people can bring chili. And the rest could bring desserts, condiments, bowls/utinsels or drinks. Cheese and crackers would be good, or any other condiments you like. I am bringing chili and an onion. And don't (...) (22 years ago, 3-Nov-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  GATS - Indianapolis

Just got notified by Great American Train Show that we are on "hold" for the show. We'll find out 30 days prior to the show whether they can fit us into the space. Eric (22 years ago, 3-Nov-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: November Meeting Reminder

(...) Now that you mentioned it, we had considered having potluck chili--everyone bring chili, and we'll mix it together in a big pot. If you can't make chili, bring shredded cheese, crackers, a beverage (I like milk with my chili), bowls, napkins, (...) (22 years ago, 29-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: November Meeting Reminder

(...) Are we going to have the bon-fire this time? And what is the meal going to be? I think it would be a good idea to bring all our items for the layout so we can see what needs to be done. mark (22 years ago, 29-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: bricks, bricks, bricks!

(...) Yep, we'll need a boat load. I've got quite a few, but they are needed for the mountain. If I have extra, you can borrow them. Anyone else? Steve Martin (22 years ago, 20-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: IndyLUG LAYOUT

(...) You can go ahead and build one for your section, I was thinking of building a small one for the secret area. Everyone, I started on my 2X3 block and will have 3 buildings done this weekend. mark (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: IndyLUG LAYOUT

I believe my log-cabin chapel will be ready in time for the show. It will require two plates' worth of space. Maybe it could go south of the park and west of the roundhouse? (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: IndyLUG LAYOUT

(...) This all sounds good. The playground is Leah's call since she already has that block. You could build a playground in the center of the 3x3 grid of baseplates that SteveH wants to put a track around. Steve, bring your racing stuff next time (...)   Re: IndyLUG LAYOUT

There's a large circle (3x3 plates) near the bottom, that would make a fine little race track (temp track, with road baracades) I have a suppily of cars & haulers. I even have a hamburger cart. It just needs some bleachers & people. Steve ----- (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  How are things going?

We've a had a few meetings now and I'd thought I'd poll everyone and see how everyone thought things were going? Anything we need to modify? SteveM IndyLUG (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: Points derailing cars

  Re: Points derailing cars

I've tried your suggestions in the past... :-( DON'T do it... Scroll down... (...) You'll certainly ruin 1 or more integrated wires. Fixing these is a hell of a job.   Points derailing cars

Hello all. At our meeting last night, we noticed that our cars were derailing in some of the switchs. I searched the train group and couldn't find any reference to this.   IndyLUG October Meeting Minutes

Hello, all. I'll try and do my best Brian Alano impersonation and give something approximating the minutes. Steve Hassenplug brought his Lafayette Mindstorms group down to check out our train layout.   Um, goodbye?

Hi guys. I have not met any of you, except for Steve, so I don't know how appropriate my message is. I need to remove my name from the Indylug roster becuase I no longer live in Indiana.   Re: it's up!!

The web site looks great. I really enjoy the layout of it. The only problem i had was that it was extremely slow loading for the first time. But then worked o.k.   Re: Rendering server

A single 233MHz PII would only be a stop-gap, at best. Now a cluster of 233PIIs... I think we should farm out the rendering to a custom PC screensaver, installed on the high-bandwidth-connected PCs of thousands of AFOLs. :) (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  it's up!!

  Re: Rendering server

I think it could be possible if we were running our own server. Though I don't believe POVray supports command line, it's little buddy l3p does. I don't think a 233MHz would be able to handle the eventual bandwidth this would create. If any of you (...) (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Rendering server

Every now and then I wish there were a web server where I could paste in an LDraw (.dat or .ldr) file (or a URL to such a file) and get a 3D rendering.   Re: auto-drive

  auto-drive

Here's an interesting idea for Brian. It's a way to make a truck that can stay on the road. This is the only picture I see: (URL) put metal under the road plates (like washers) and just use a couple magnets to steer the truck. I'm not sure if two (...)
