If you want to partisipate in the parts draft, remember to
bring a copy of 4097 Mini Robots.

So how did this go? Did you guys do the draft? Did it work out? One of these
days Im going to actually make it to a meeting.

The draft was small (just three of us), but it was a bit of fun (racing to see
who could sort his pieces first, and strategizing your picks). And of course,
the subsequent trading afterwards (nobody likes lime green but me)! For the
near future, I think well be picking sets with chrome (CHROME!). The Discovery
Kids sets and the Designer sets seem to be ideal for drafting; a lot of variety
in those sets.
What you really missed is the Mindstorms helicopters. Very cool. Courtesy of
Matthew.
Other highlights include more moonbases, such as Krispy Kreme moonbase, Waffle
House moonbase (both Chriss), and a classic space moonbase with monorail
station (Matthews). Scott brought the new fall S@H catalogs, which are
available at Discover Mills now (and are in the process of mailing). Scott also
brought the 3538 Snowboarding set and one of the new Spiderman sets, 4850 (neat
car designs, but no doors!). A lot of chatting about where DixieLUG is going,
how Brickfest went, how to store and sort bricks, etc.
I believe that were shooting for late Sept or early Oct for the next meeting.
And one of these days, Ill actually bring something to put on a NGLTC layout.
Ive got a bus and a bus-to-rail transfer station that should work well on a
layout.
