OK,  I Brought a RCX with a light sensor to work to measure the reading
of the playfeild.

I've got good news and bad news.

First: I was too lazy to bring the entire playfeild up stairs and lay it
out JUST to take a light reading.  So I painted a small 10" x 10" (sorry
Iain) square of plywood with the same paint.  I put down 2 coats. and
allowed each to dry. this is darn close to the original. (in the
original we used some other light colour paint as a primer)

Then I put down a strip of electric tape, then I put down a strip of
White gaff tape (since I forgot to bring the white electrical tape.)
Next I took some measurements.

NOW the bad news

The day was overcast. I had all the florescent lights on.  at 1" from
the surface these area the reading I got.

grey playfeild - 46%
Black tape      - 34%
White gaff       - 51%

What's bad about this is that the difference in number between white and
grey is  small.

So I put down a strip of masking tape (regular colour) And a strip of
misc. yellow tape.

masking tape  - 48%
yellow tape    - 49%

All these numbers are VERY unscientific.  But it gives and Idea.  As
always show up with the ability to change your program.

Let me know if this causes anyone stress.
