They specifically pointed out they used VxWorks because of being able to
program in C++. I've noticed a lot of their job ads etc stress object
oriented programming experience. Apparently the older arms are done with
much lower level microcontrollers.

I got the impression while I was there that their people were really quite
on the ball. That spacer ring/rotation sensor really made me think, wow
these guys ARE rocket scientists. I suppose they're well paid too-$2.5M for
10 people, of which two are coop students is still pretty high, although a
good chunk of that is going to be hardware.
