So some interesting tidbits have led me to believe the drought of basic
bricks is going to end soon, and no better time either, because I'm running
out of bricks.  (Okay, running out as defined as running out of red 2x and
1x out of my current 3000-4000 piece slosh, and not opening my six 3033's in
storage)

What do we know?

-First of all is the appearance of 4105 and 4107.  There have been catalog
scans of both of these boxes that have turned up in recent days:

-4105 is a 500 piece set, with a part content that is almost ALL basic
bricks.  Colour selection includes tan (!), red, green, black, yellow, blue
white and brown (!).  I'm starting to like tan, I'll accept green, brown on
the other hand...ugh.

-4107 is a 1000 piece set, but the part content is unknown.  I'd be very
happy if it was mostly basic bricks and slopes.  In fact, I'd be super
happy.  Also at debate is if there is grey inside.  Man, I'd kill for grey.
Grey is great!

-4107 might have a lid unlike the other Creator tub (know as the Mario's
Kids Tub, since no one has a photo of it) but this is not a major deal for
me.  Would be nice, but I don't really use my tub lids. 4105 is a bucket.

-Additional sets named 7825 and 4179 have surfaced in Denmark and Korea.
These have orange and purple pieces, which aren't attractive to me, but I'm
sure someone likes them.  That would also mean you wouldn't have to keep
buying those silly pumpkin kits.  Other sets have also surfaced:

Okay, that said, the next huge question for me would be price:

-I recently received an email from someone who had called Lego and asked
about 4107.  Word is it's coming out in October at a price of $19.99 USD.
If this is true, and the part content is similar to 4105, then I WILL BE SO
HAPPY.  Because 3033's American MSRP was $20 USD-and we were getting them at
$25 CAD regular price.  Bring on that delightful BOGOHP and we're back in
business.

-4105 is apparently 20 Euros, or that's how I'm machine translating this
message:

No idea if they mean that 4107 is 20 Euros, or if 4105 being that much is
normal.

Anyways, it sounds like good news and I'm really happy to hear all these
little bits and pieces.  The price in New York, Seoul, Berlin, or Copenhagen
doesn't matter to me-just the price at the Etobicoke Zellers on Queensway :)

Calum

What's "BOGOHP"? Should I assume it's a half-price sale? -Eric (22 years ago, 11-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
