a) Mosaic Maker.  Build a machine that uses a Mindstorms mechanical • assembly
alongside a PC driving it with a VisionCommand or other small webcam, that
can digitize and then build a 48x48 mosaic out of small Lego pieces.  It
could take all the 1x1 flats from a S@H Mosaic and lay them out into • place.
This would be like ProjectX but 10 times harder.  But of course you'd need
to have a computer attached to it.

I vaguely remember when EPCOT's Innoventions' pavalion used to be
Communicore East and West, there was an exhibit in which you'd sit in front
of a camera, and a UNIMATE/PUMA would paint your picture with a black
marker.

You could have the vision command set up to have you sit there, for twelve
hours, while it meticulously places every single tile. :)

c) Event Donation Machine.  Similar to b), build a machine that can take a
coin donation, do something unusual with it (ie, a marble run, a sorter,
whatever) then deposit it into a coin box.

d) Event donation machine sorter/brocheure folder. :)

Iain (sorting into PLANO tonight, build later... just bought the 4x4
Offroader and it's HUGE, omg, manual is like 10 mm thick...!)

(...) <snip> (...) You think that's funny - I did the math, and that's 18.75 seconds a plate. I think a Lego robot that could pick, handle and place a single 1x1 plate from a selection of 5 colours in 18.75 seconds would be a dream come true. 24 (...) Hey. Here are some interesting but technically challenging ideas to try: a) Mosaic Maker.
