I was reading this over in the Brickfest thread:
http://news.lugnet.com/events/brickfest/?n=3072
And thought, you know, we could probably do this with the ridiculous number of
RCXes we own. But the idea I had was that instead of mobile RCX "creatures"
roving around, to have the machines process something mobile, like a marble.
The machines stand still, but intake and dispatch marbles. That way the
machines can be powered by AC hung from above. The choice of how far to kick
the marble away and in which direction could be driven by some sort of
Sierpinski triangle like algorithm. Does that make any sense? At the end of
the day, maybe all the marbles appear in some sort of pattern.
Or, given my complete lack of knowledge on the subject, all the marbles end up
in a random pattern :)

| (...) So I guess in the example you linked to it was "chips" - robots picking up and moving chips, how would that work for marbles? I like this idea though! I also like shiney silver things, and kites. -Iain (19 years ago, 26-May-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
