Hi folks,
Here's the start of a large building I've been working on today.

The photos are pretty bad (poor flash late at night with few lamps) but I
just wanted to get the idea across--the general concept is to build an
office/residential complex that sits over top of a train track. I would
have preferred it to be lower by about six bricks, but constraints due to
the ridiculous tallness of Trains in general (a standard Metroliner coach is
11-12 bricks tall!) made me have to put it higher. The height works in that
on a side elevation, it brings interesting (windows) elements above the
front row of Police Station, Loblaws supermarket, and apartment building.
It also saves a lot of bricks to build a simple pier/pillar construction.
I'm trying to reduce the grotesque nature of the design, it seems to
overpowering. I might even drop the height by one row of windows. At the
ground floor, I was going to leave it open, but I thought of putting little
vendors in there, like a newspaper stand, a snack bar, etc, where that pair
of 4x5x1 red doors are.
Note: This should give Iain's camera a real amazing shot!
I'll probably finish it up this week...
