A few things--

Going to do the patented 'Derek Water' thing on the lowered section (when I get
enuf blue 1xn's to do it...)

Derek won't like the usage of those old dirty white bricks, but I think it adds
character.  Some of those white bricks date back to before I was a gleam in
Papa's eye...

That black brick right on top of the white bricks is actually a Megablock...
dunno how that got into my collectoin but when I was building this bridge, I
reached into my black 2x4 bin and pulled out that one, then before I actually
used it, I noticed that it wasn't a bon-O-fide LEGO brick!  Gasp!!!  It burnssss
ussssss....  So I put it right on top--front and center for all to see!  Take
that, Dave! ;)

(special thanks to Greg for that strip--it's absolutely perfect!)

K, about the actual bridge--it's directly inspired by the bridge on the train
layout at Brickfest.  I saw that bridge and I wanted one.  The bridge was also
inspired by my many travels across the Welland Canal, but most notably my trip
with Brad Ventura when we saw the lift bridges on the canal system.

This was a fun bridge to make 'cause of the Technic involved.  The bridge is
pretty much balanced perfectly, which helps the motor raise and lower it.  As
well, I got to throw the stationary 'rhombus sided' bridges across the 'water'
(when I get arond to actually making the water...)

Anyway, after this long tangent is said and done, please let me kow what you
think!  (about the bridge, that is--not necessarily my writing style, or lack
thereof...)

Dave K
