K, I love it, love it, love it. Animation on LEGO layouts is so cool to me-- the more the better:-)

I have in the works a space layout of my own, and your animation intrigues me, but I need to know, Dave-- what is the purpose of a raising platform as you have built it? I can see if it were an underground deal and it raises up to the surface, but this I don’t understand. And I want to understand because I might want to copy it! :-)
