Re: I'm going to The Wedding!!!

(...) Or something very suitable to the Australian palate - Vegemite!! (Tell them it has to be spread THICKLY!! John (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: I'm going to The Wedding!!!

Or how about indigenous Australian art? You know, the pictures of kangaroos or patterns all made from dots. Only our dots would all have "Lego" written on them like studs do. I fear this is a job for Kev though :-) Gosh, I just love weddings. Kerry (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: I'm going to The Wedding!!!

Ahh, I have it this time. We get one of those "snow domes" with the Opera House or Ayers Rock (or both!) and open it up (caution, children, don't try this at home), insert a couple of singlet-wearing Bruce and Sheila minifigs, and reseal it. (...) any (...) Actually, they probably have all the Lego they need. What they really need is probably ye-olde-wedding-presents: sheets, towels, and toasters :-) I think we should send them an Australian toaster. Should provide them with hours of (...)   Re: So what about 9v level crossings?

(...) As far as Sydney goes...they aren't available at retail, unless they are sitting in a non-Lego place somewhere. At the beginning of 2000, there were two in W4K, I bought one on the off-chance I would one day possess a train, the other one sold (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

A pair of Stubby-Holders entirely built from Lego. What finer gift could any newly-weds want? Kerry (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: I'm going to The Wedding!!!

(...) I think that would be great -- maybe a collectively designed Oz-themed MOC, along the lines of the "New Outback" series we were talking about a few weeks ago? A contingent of minifig-rendered locals would be cool too. --Dave (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

  I'm going to The Wedding!!!

Hi all Just got confirmation from Suz of my invitation to their (Todd & Suz) wedding! Dunno if any other Australian AFOLs are going, but was wondering if any Oz LUGs want to do a LegOz gift or something for them? I'll be giving them something (...)   Re: So what about 9v level crossings?

Well, you could always build your own!! Wouldnt be too hard - could use hinges to get a shallow slope, and plates / tiles between the rails. Could have a custom barrier / lights arrangement too!!   So what about 9v level crossings?

Dare I wonder about the availability of System 9v Level Crossings in Australia? Would I be right in thinking obtaining one of these would have to be via the 2nd hand or hoarder-of-MISB markets? Just seeking info at the moment, I've spent far too (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Results from 'fishing trip'

  Results from 'fishing trip'

G'day all, After a couple of days over the past weeks having been spent 'fishing' for lego info for Australia, I have returned with the following information: (NOTE: all prices are the RRP and are in $AUS. For $US prices, $1 AUS = $0.50 US (...) (24 years ago, 27-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au, lugnet.general)

  Re: Looking for a Scuba

(...) You Goose! Doesn't mean I will charge you that! : ) I just had those prices (that's Brickbay for you too!) in there cause that's what some of them overseas go for, and I don't really mind if they will sit there for 500 years : ).   Re: Whats all this about?

Richie's made some excellent points. Consider the term Kleenex or even Coke. Yes we do have to be careful *if* we get any endorsement by Lego. Though having said that, we're much more likely to make mountain scenery out of Megabloks than with Lego (...) (24 years ago, 23-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

(...) I just went and checked it out. US$10 (over AU$20) is very steep for a set that originally retailed at AU$14ish and may still be available in stores for (if the prices on the others are anything to go by) around AU$5. Perhaps there's something (...) (24 years ago, 23-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au)

  Re: Whats all this about?

(...) Now this is a valid point, and something to be borne in mind, if we do put on a public display (e.g. the train show). If the Lego word is used, then we probably have to ensure there are no clones. If there are clones, then we probably need to (...) (24 years ago, 23-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

  Re: Whats all this about?
