(...) I second all of that. And I'd also recommend trying to get hold of a RIS 1.0 - especially if you're planning to do a lot of programming. For the cost of the expansion packs combined, you could probably pick up a 8480 Space Shuttle on e-bay, which has loads more useful stuff for robotics or just plain technics.
