  Re: Lavender Brick Society

(...) Just as a point of interest, this can be easily recreated in lego for your name tag: (URL) And i've seen it at Brickfest the last couple of years. Subtle, and those not in the know probably wouldn't even notice.   Re: Lavender Brick Society

(...) Ruling out explicit sexual images/discussion - what does "content that is sexual in nature" mean? Is (URL) this> sexual in nature? How about (URL) this>? What about their gay equivalents? Marc Nelson Jr. (21 years ago, 15-Sep-04, to lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.org, FTX)

  Re: Lavender Brick Society

Replying generally here both to Teddy and others in this thread. I'm gay. Most people in my local group (VLC) know that, and they know my partner, who sometimes comes and helps haul tables and setup or teardown at shows just to help out, though he's (...)   Re: Lavender Brick Society

(snippage) (...) Just to clarify. I wasn't suggesting that there would be explicit sexual content just content that is sexual in nature and on a site dedicated to a childs toy it would be inappropriate. I am not trying to vilify Teddy or his (...) (21 years ago, 14-Sep-04, to lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.org)

  Re: Lavender Brick Society

(...) I really don't think Teddy was asking for a group in which to hold explicit sexual discussion. Of course outside interests have an impact on what you do with your LEGO hobby. I imagine most of the train guys are fans of real trains. I build a (...) (21 years ago, 14-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.org)

  Re: Lavender Brick Society

(...) As this is directly topical for LUGNET discussion, and there's not even anything to debate, it doesn't belong in .off-topic.debate. Right? And if you do start a club, wouldn't it fall under the .org. hierarchy?   Re: Lavender Brick Society

Hi teddy, I have absolutely no problems with me being gay in this community. But I'd love to be a Lavender Brickette :-) Since I'm in the Netherlands, I don't have any issues with acceptance or something, but it would be nice to exchange thoughts (...)   Re: Lavender Brick Society

(...) Personally I don't see the reason to start labelling people into groups such as this, I can't see why just everyone regardless of who they are, where they are from and what they look like can't just do the same as everyone else, why does (...)   Lavender Brick Society

I've been kicking an idea around for a while, and I wanted to put it out to the community: I'd like to start an organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) AFOLs. A lavender brick society, if you like. It's seemed to me that (...)   Re: Friday morning question: How are the AFOLs comics working?

(...) Not yet due to unavailability. ;-) You talked about translating that comic in other languages. When you published the first beta, I offered myself to translate this comic into German. Just as a reminder, this offer ist still open. Yours, (...) (21 years ago, 6-Sep-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.org)

Re: Friday morning question: How are the AFOLs comics working?

(...) We just had our first club meeting since Brickfest last night. Some of the comics were given to members for further distribution. I know a few people who are 'on the bubble' AFOLs and this may be the push they need. Unfortunately I haven't (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.org)

Re: Friday morning question: How are the AFOLs comics working?

(...) Jake, Well, I have given out my first comic to a fellow I met at work this week. He absolutely loved it. It was definitely a good way to break the ice and introduce alot of the ideas/structure of the AFOL community to him. I look forward to (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.org)

Friday morning question: How are the AFOLs comics working?

I'm just preparing for a team update meeting at the end of the month and had an open question for your all. How are the AFOLs working out? How are you using them? Are they interesting to "sleeper" AFOLs? Have you heard any stories about how they (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.org)

  Re: AFOLs - The comic!

(...) Jake, Hi. Way to go on AFOLs - the comic! You and Greg did a tremendous job on this first edition. I just got my printed copy from an AFOL friend of mine and I laughed out loud at the turn of every page. I saw a little or A LOT of myself in (...)   Wednesday Night Meeting

CedarLUG is officially back to our regular meetings which for those who are new to the club is every second and fourth wednesday night at 7 p.m. On Wednesday night we basically got back in shape by building a few simple models. Since we are such (...) (21 years ago, 27-Aug-04, to lugnet.org.us.cedarlug, lugnet.org)

Re: new LUG in San Diego

(...) No apology necessary, BTW, but thanks. (...) Ya, I saw that, and I hear you, it did seem funky but I imagine LUGOLA won't mind one or two till we get this straightened around. Shouldn't be TOO long. Sorry for the delay. As of right now only (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.org)

Re: new LUG in San Diego

(...) Larry, Please accept my apologies. I was afraid my original post was lost in the sea of Bricklink postings. And I did want to add some more info as you noticed. I just felt weird piggy backing on another LUGs list. Thanks for responding, (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.org)

Re: new LUG in San Diego

(...) Please don't do this on LUGNET. If you have reason to believe that your post wasn't seen try dropping an email to anyone, or everyone, on the transition team. Bumping for the sake of "relisting" isn't a good approach, your post isn't lost, it (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.org)

Re: new LUG in San Diego

(...) Bump! Responding to my own post to relist it. SandLUG has had 1 official meeting, and one gameing get togather. And another of each planned for the near future. When possible we'd like to get a newsgroup added as well. Thanks, Mathew Clayson (21 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.org)

  Re: Attention all RSS geeks!
