OK, so does LUGMAG actually stand for something (i.e., does it have an
acronymic expansion)?
The reason I'm still curious is, I'm concerned that some of the names I've
seen coined recently seem they could potentially confuse/muddy the meaning
of LUG. An LUG or LEGO User(s) Group is a group of people who use LEGO and
get together periodically to build and talk and socialize and that sort of
thing. BayLUG (_B_ay _A_rea _L_EGO _U_sers _G_roup) was the first LUG, and
I think NELUG (_N_ew _E_ngland _L_EGO _U_sers _G_roup) was the second.
I guess I'm also confused by names like BrickLUG as in "BrickLUG Chat" in
that I'm stuck trying to figure out what "Brick LEGO Users Group" means.
Eric Kingsley's LUGMAP, for example -- that name makes perfect sense -- it
stands for _L_EGO _U_sers _G_roup _M_ap and shows the LUGs[1] on a clickable
world map:

Do you see how the use of "LUG" is confusing when it breaks the long-standing
tradition of being a group based on region?
I'm just wondering, did you consider names like BrickMag(s) or BrickZine(s)
and those weren't available?

[1] and LTC's -- LTC's are also LEGO user(s) groups, just not "LUG"s by name.
