Hello all
I just finished my model of a cable-liner cable-drawn rapid transit system
piloted with a RCX.
This is a mifig-scale wire-pulled wagon inspired from real life: I first saw it
in a hotel in Reno, NV at the Circus-Circus.
It is very simple and I design this model so it can be used in a classroom for
initiation to automated system with the RCX. Thus it is more focused on
functionality rather than aesthetically.
This model carry passenger but another application can be an industrial furnace
wagon-pulled for cooking ceramics (such as toilets or sinks).
You can go check the system at
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=86518
I included the following materials:
- Various pictures of the whole model
- A picture of the real life system
- A small video showing the model in action
- Ldraw files of the whole model
- NQC programs (Initialisation and run)
- A PDF introduction to automated system (in French)
- More information about the system
While I was working on this project, I was wondering if it wouldnt be
interresting in having a GRAFCET based progamming software for the RCX. GRAFCET
is a Sequential Fonctional Chart used in the industry to program real life
Automated System.
More information about GRAFCET at
http://www.lurpa.ens-cachan.fr/grafcet.html
Unfortunately, Im not programmer but I would be motivated in seeking other
person interrested in such a project.
Any comments or suggestions are very welcome.
Thanks
Chris
