Brian,
The problem actually seemed to be less with your email account, than with the
ameritech.net mail servers in general. My observation was that either:
(1) their backbone connection was very overloaded
(2) the mail servers were overloaded and very slow responding or
(3) they have put them behind a firewall that was causing delays
I tried several times to traceroute and/or ping the ameritech.net mailservers
(there are 4 identified via MX records) with no success. The SMTP transport (at
the ISP I use) kept timing out when trying to connect.

| I just figured it was an old email address. Can you give me a ping at the jkelly3@yahoo.com address. I want to send you an Url for what should be the gmltc site later. -john (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.test)
