That works if the site is on your windows network, so you can access it
as \\hostname\path\to\file...  But if it's not available, I don't think
it's doable...

Say, if you try to copy http://peeron.com/robots.txt to your local
drive, I don't think it'll work.

But I'd love to find out I'm wrong! :)

(...) Doh! It looks as though, once again, you're correct. As it turns out, the old "file.bat" accessed a location on the network, rather than the internet. Darn it. Thanks for ending my wild goose chase, though. Dave! (19 years ago, 30-Jun-05, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
