I don't buy their spim argument.
Why not just say "we, Yahoo, want everyone to use our client so we can send them
ads and popups and keep users from thinking about using other IM services"
instead of giving some gafla about spim. They can say whatever they want, if
it's true, but saying what their real intent is would buy them more credibility
with me.
