Dunno about O2K (1), but in W2K (;-) you can turn this off in the Taskbar
Properties -- it's "Personalized Menus". BTW, mine showed up automagically
after about a dozen trips to the Start menu. It crunched everything down,
popped up a "Clippy" message explaining what was going on, which then
immediately closed without possibility of recovery after losing the focus
because I was, of course, trying to navigate the &*@*(#&! menu at the same
time.
Note to Microsoft: NEVER close a help window when it loses focus. Bad,
bad, bad.

In Word 97, you can change this via Styles. Each bullet type is associated
with a style. Dunno about O2K. LMK if this works fer ya. :-,

1. O2K == two oxygen atoms and one potassium atom? *HEAVILY* ionized
potassium oxide? Blech. :-,

Two questions about Office 2000 - 1) Is there any way to restore the start menus to the way they were before O2K was (...) (24 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
