  Re: Another MCSE test down!

(...) What good is any certification program which exists that its proponents may suck even still more money out of the industry? --Todd (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Another MCSE test down!

(...) A+ is the certification equivalent of an entry level position. It's easy to pass if you know much of anything about basic PC/printer hardware and whatever the current Microsoft O/S is. (win3.1 when I took it) If you have any certifications (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Another MCSE test down!

(...) Buegs the question: Are you getting certified for employment purposes, or just for self-inflicted brownie points? Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Another MCSE test down!

Well, I'm sure the Microsoft-bashers won't care, but I aced the Server in the Enterprise exam today. That gives me another MCP cert. I'll ace Workstation on Friday then move on to TCP/IP, Proxy, and Net Essentials. Probably go ahead and knock out (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Something I don't get.

(...) How are kids placed in different classes? Do the teachers nominate them? Is there a test? Don't be afraid to ask a teacher, guidance counselor, administrator, school board member, or even your parents about this stuff. It definitely shouldn't (...)   Re: Something I don't get.

(...) Huh. Well, often test taking skill is different from either intelligence or ability to get As.   Re: Evolutionary programming to build LEGO bridge

Jeremy: (...) Since they just use evolutionary programming to _design_ constructions, I doubt that they would ever need Mindstorms. Their claims about the lightness of the table[1] is most dubious.   Evolutionary programming to build LEGO bridge

When I was in 6th grade I was the 2nd smartest person in my math class and one of my friends got C's while I got A's and B's but when we went to Middle School he got Pre-Algerbra and I got general Math.
