I don't get it - the picture he is trying to paint is that Lucas has
introduced pro-black elements and painted them evil or am I reading that
wrong?
His first sentence threw me completely out of whack:
"Watto was a Jewish stereotype."
Huh?? Watto doesn't strike me as anything more than a spare-parts dealer
with a betting habit - a habit which I would point out is evident in most
societies today, not just in Jewish areas of life. If it's the slave thing,
I'd say that Lucas was merely pointing out that slavery still goes on today
in certain countries - people of some nationalities are still sold into
slavery even today, and it has not been stopped, merely been driven
underground into the shadier areas of life.
I'd comment on the rest of that article but I need sleep!! Tomorrow is
another day! I will say, though, that most of the latter half of it
appeared to cancel out earlier comments, which kind of derailed (for me,
anyway) what he'd been trying to rant on about!
