I have been known from time to time to explode in similar fashion - although

Well, errors of just about any kind don't really bother me in any sort
of conversation-oriented forum.  I would no sooner worry about
correcting grammar and common spelling errors in someone's usenet post
than I would interrupt someone and explain the difference between
using hopefully as an adverb and using the phrase "I am hopeful",
although that is probably one of my worst peeves.

I try to be forgiving on conversation forums, but 'try' and 'do' are not the
same, as any 3 foot tall green muppet can tell you. <grin> I think the reason
it bothers me is that I'm reading it.  Although the posts that are more
'conversation-like' don't seem to bother me, its the (frequent) long rants and
diatribes that seem to spontaniously occur on usenet that get to me.  As far as
I'm concerned, if you're going to rant, do it conherently, or there's no point.
